As part of the Government’s Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme Enfield local authority was one of eight authorities given the go-ahead to join the once-in-a-generation programme, aimed at giving all secondary school pupils world class facilities.
Chace Community School was one of five secondary schools in the area considered most in need of investment.
Trench Farrow played a key part in the project management and contract administration in the ambitious programme for design and construction and was able to keep the project on track, finishing the main block on time and the refurbishment three weeks ahead of schedule. At the design stage we worked closely with the client on the brief to ensure specific school requirements were correctly understood and at the same time demonstrated to the school management that advances in design techniques would provide a durable building.
The project comprised the development of a new arts facility, drama and dance rooms with full theatre sound and lighting, facilities for senior students, the Chace Diner, plus refurbishment of existing school facilities.
The result is a modern and iconic school building in the Borough, which has drawn delight from pupils, management, the authority and community at large.
